Community Foundation to Honor Kingsgate Logistics as 2018 Corporate Philanthropist of the Year

December 4, 2018

WEST CHESTER, OH – The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty will honor West Chester-based business Kingsgate Logistics and owners Jeff, David, Julie and Amy (Barnett) Beckham, as the 2018 Corporate Philanthropist of the Year at the Foundation’s Annual Holiday Open House on Thursday, December 6th.

The Corporate Philanthropist of the Year Award, established in 2017, seeks to recognize an outstanding local business whose dedication to philanthropy is making a difference in the community.

“Kingsgate Logistics and the Beckhams have been great supporters of the Community Foundation, and of West Chester/Liberty as a whole,” said Foundation President & CEO, Erin Clemons. “We are proud to partner with them in making an impact and hope to honor their efforts in a small way with this award.”

Kingsgate Logistics places a high value on community involvement. Many organizations – Rotary Club of West Chester/Liberty, Reach Out Lakota, and One Way Farm, to name a few – have benefited from their support. When the second generation took over in 2008, founder Tom Beckham had this piece of advice, “Make sure the taxes are paid, and if you have anything left, give back.” For the Beckhams, part of that giving-back philosophy meant establishing the Beckham Family Foundation at the Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty in 2017 to build their philanthropic legacy.

“Philanthropy – giving back to the communities in which we live and work – is a core principle of our company,” said Jeff Beckham, Owning Partner. He continued “Our parents began this tradition of giving when it wasn’t necessarily easy for them to give as they were building our company. But if you spoke with either of them, they would tell you that sharing their successes with their community was a central piece of their success and it still is today.”

Join the Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty in honoring Kingsgate Logistics this Thursday evening, December 6th, at the Community Foundation office – 8366 Princeton Glendale Rd. Details can be found online at www.wclfoundation.com or by calling 513-874-5450.
